The Browns finally found an offer they can refuse with the Raiders reportedly offering up their quarterback Marcus Mariota. The Cleveland team is also said to be interested in Jameis Winston, who’s widely regarded as one of the best quarterbacks in football. What does this trade mean for Tennessee?
Marcus Mariota of the Oakland Raiders was named as a trade target for the Cleveland Browns. This is because the team has decided to move on from DeShone Kizer, who they drafted in 2017.
Marcus Mariota and Derek Carr, both of the Raiders, are shown.
With the trade deadline nearing, there has been talk that the Cleveland Browns would make a deal for a quarterback to improve their depth chart even more, especially with Baker Mayfield’s health being a major concern.
According to CBS Sports, the Browns would get Raiders backup Marcus Mariota, the former No. 2 overall selection who is sitting behind Derek Carr in Las Vegas. What they had to say regarding the arrangement was as follows:
Will Baker Mayfield be able to play with a torn labrum and a bone fracture at the same time? Even the strongest quarterbacks would struggle to meet that challenge, leaving the Browns with the potential of having to depend on backup quarterback Case Keenum in the future. Keenum is 28-35 as a starter, and although the Browns were able to stave off the Broncos in Week 7, Keenum missed 12 of his 33 pass attempts en way to 199 yards and one score. Those stats won’t hold up against the AFC’s elite, and Mariota offers them a greater chance of avoiding a dreadful season. All they have to do now is persuade the Raiders of Derek Carr’s durability and Mariota, who has a no-trade clause, that starting in Cleveland is preferable than starting in Vegas.
On Sunday, Mayfield is expected to face the Steelers.

Despite a torn labrum and fracture in his non-throwing shoulder, Mayfield will start against the Steelers on Sunday. However, the former first-round selection is only one major hit away from aggravating his condition and losing much more time.
Last week, he was unable to play because the swelling in his shoulder was so bad that he was putting himself in danger by being on the pitch.
“To be honest with you, I’m still taking it day by day,” Mayfield told reporters this week. “You can do various things to mend the material within the rotator cuff and strengthen it up.” “You’ll notice a lot of partial rips in those labrums if you look at a lot of people’s shoulders.” You may, I suppose, do something to assist with that. We’ll look at it when the time comes.”
Mayfield was injured while attempting to make a tackle following an interception in Week 2. He has looked crisp in practice coming up to the Steelers’ Week 8 showdown, but has struggled on the field at times this season. This season, Mayfield has thrown for 1,474 yards, six touchdowns, and three interceptions.
In the event that Keenum is injured, the Browns have a capable backup.
Case Keenum is a good backup for the Browns, but bringing in Mariota would provide the club with another dependable veteran to fall back on if Mayfield is injured.
Mariota has a 29-32 record as a starter in the NFL, with the Titans earning all of his starts. In his career, he’s thrown for 13,433 yards, 77 touchdowns, and 45 interceptions.
With a three-year, $18 million deal signed two offseasons ago, the Browns are paying Keenum handsomely to wait behind Mayfield. Last week, he guided the Browns to a win against the Broncos, passing for 199 yards and a touchdown.
Heavy on Browns has a lot more to offer.
