The first number indicates the generation of the Roomba. The second two numbers are the specific model within that generation. And finally, the last letter denotes the color of the Roomba.
So, a Roomba 960 model would be from the 9th generation of Roombas and it would be the 60th specific model within that range. The color is not identified by a number, but by a letter. So far, there have been six colors released.
The first two letters represent the model type – for example, the 690 is a model690
The following two digits are the model number – so the 690 is actually the 69th model in that series. The final letter denotes the color of the Roomba – in this case, “P” stands for Purple.
